The Fittonia will satisfy the inner perfectionist in you. Each leaf of Fittonia Green is perfectly shaped with vivid white veins that run across the dark green leaf, earning it the names Nerve Plant and Silver Net Plant. She’s a temperamental plant, but totally worth the hassle!

Plant Essentials

Fertilizer/ feed for the plant:Use a 5-5-5 fertiliser diluted to half strength. In winter, fertilise the Fittonia once in 6 weeks and in other seasons you will require to fertilise monthly. Fittonia needs regular watering so make sure that you’re keeping her constantly moist or she’ll express herself by getting limp and sad.
Repotting : The soil you need to use with Fittonia is the kind that will hold moisture. Use any typical pot or dish that has drainage holes in the bottom. You will need to repot and rearrange the Fittonia annually in early summer.
Propogation : Fittonia propagates readily through root stem cuttings. Do this at the same time that you are repotting. These cuttings will develop roots in 2-3 weeks under ideal conditions.

Common Problems

1. Why is my Nerve Plant drooping?
Fittonia will throw tantrums when her living conditions are less than perfect. If the soil is dry, she will droop to show her displeasure, but water promptly and she’ll get perky outright as if nothing happened.
2. Why are the leaves of my Fittonia turning yellow?
If your Fittonia’s leaves are turning yellow, it is a classic sign of overwatering. Check the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and clear them if they are blocked to drain the excess water.
3. Why are Fittonia leaves wilting?
Overwatering causes wilting of leaves. Water your Fittonia less frequently to avoid this.

Style and Décor

Style and Décor

Light Requirements :While the Fittonia will grow fine in conditions between direct bright light to shade, she loves moderate indirect light. She also thrives in artificial fluorescent light making it adaptable for all spaces..
Locations :Remember that the Fittonia likes humidity and indirect sunlight. So keep her away from windows, lamps, and other dry areas in your home. It can grow really well in your bathroom and kitchen!
Styling/decor tip :Use them as ground cover for your flower beds, as they spread happily or place them on side tables in quirky little planters They are great additions as centrepieces for dining tables or décor elements on bookshelves. You can add a spot of green to your bathrooms by keeping these on the window ledge or next to the basin.
